I’m working on my MFA at the moment, and I find myself wondering if I’m belaboring the point on some of these things I write. I say the same thing a couple of different times, or a couple of different ways, instead of being as concise or efficient as I should be. This reminds me of experienced carpenters driving a nail in one blow of the hammer, whereas when you’re learning to drive the nail (and trying hard not to bend them, and then replace them), it takes a couple of whacks. We’ll see, maybe this will help me think out my phrasing better (and more succinctly). 🙂
